How to read a job posting in two minutes

Most postings mix three things: what the team cannot hire without, what they would like, and what the recruiter pasted from a template. Your first job is to sort them.

Start with the verbs in the responsibilities list. They describe the real work. Then scan the qualifications for numbers: years, team sizes, named tools. Numbers are where postings are most likely to be firm.

Last, read the title and seniority hints together. A "senior" title with junior duties, or the reverse, tells you how the role will really be judged.
